How to prep your house for fall

As we say goodbye to summer and hello to crisp autumn days, there is so much to look forward to. We love to kick off the season by taking the time to make a few swaps that will seamlessly transition the home from summer to fall.

Here are a few ideas that can help you make that transition for yourself!

1. Take a look at your lighting. As the days get shorter and the light begins to fade earlier, you may crave a little extra light to create a cozy ambiance. Add a few table lamps or even some candles to make your space feel warm and inviting.

2. Add some warmth through pillows. Velvet is one of our favorite textures for the colder months, and it's an easy and cost-effective way to make your rooms take on an autumnal vibe.

3. Again, it's all about texture! Use sheepskin as a throw or a small area rug to add instant comfort.

4. As dinner parties move inside, take the time to go through your linens and fill in any gaps you see. It's always nice to splurge on something new to entertain in style as autumn rolls around!

5. Drapes, like throw pillows, are another quick and easy swap you can make for fall. If you have linen up in the summer, opt for a thicker, textural fabric to take you into the next season.

6. Branch out! Swap your flower arrangements for some branches - it will last you the entire season!
